If you want to make things really interesting, you can try your hand at one of the sim's challenge modes. Of course, Football Manager aficionados loved the amount of tinkering needed to set the perfect line-up, but this new version makes it easy to just focus on basic tactics and transfers, meaning you can whiz from game to game much faster. The player database and game engine are still in place, but things are much more user friendly than before. The mode strips away all those fiddly tactics and training methods in favour of a set-up that has a similar feel to the interfaced used by EA in the career sim of its FIFA franchise. Those of you that moved away from the franchise because of the time it takes to complete a season, this is the edition to draw you back as it features a new Classic mode than makes things more streamlined and less complex.
